Hannah Seward, Portraits and Paintings, Commissioned Artwork and Design

About Hannah

Hannah was born in Colchester in 1975 and moved to Suffolk when she was seven years old. She began painting portraits of animals and houses as presents for family and friends whilst still at school. Demand slowly grew and she found herself busy combining exams with portrait commissions.

Hannah went on to do a National Diploma in Art & Design at Colchester Institute before spending time working with event horses and teaching riding in America. On her return to the UK Hannah completed a BSc Hons Degree in Business at Aston University Business School in Birmingham, which included a year as a Marketing Assistant for Esso UK.

After graduating she spent six months diving in Borneo on a reef conservation project before returning to the UK to join British Telecom as a Business Development Manager for UK Education. Hannah was with BT for 3 years but soon found that she had too many portrait commissions to cope with a full time job as well. She left BT in 2003 and has built up a steady waiting list of commissions. Most of Hannah's commissions are gained through word of mouth and recommendation. She particularly enjoys the challenge of capturing each subject's unique character, which is something that she works very hard to achieve.

Hannah is a keen traveller and has completed portraits for clients in France, America, Australia and New Zealand as well as all over the UK. She is based in Long Melford, Suffolk, where she successfully combines portrait painting and graphic design work with riding horses and traveling.

As well as exhibiting locally Hannah was recently awarded the 2006 Society of Wildlife Artists 'Wetlands for Life' Bursary at the Mall Galleries in London. This involves a 12-month project to produce a piece of work for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

“Please have a look through my website to view some examples of my work. Don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to find out more or discuss a commission.”
